Born on September 24, 1940 in Nosy Be, she chose Nosy Komba as her adopted home in 1972. Initially making seed necklaces on the advice of a young African on vacation, she became a guide in 1987 and specialized in medicinal plants, passionately sharing the secrets of Madagascan pharmacopoeia.

A trailblazer in the 2000s, it popularized mountain hiking and village visits in the island’s highlands, offering travelers an authentic discovery of Madagascar.

Madame Yvonne was much more than a guide: she was a generous soul who turned every walk into a life lesson. A respected and emblematic figure on Nosy Komba, she was still plying the island’s paths just a few years ago. Today, her legacy lives on in every piece of knowledge she passed on, every smile she inspired.
