Furcifer pardalis<\/h3>\n

\u00c8 uno dei camaleonti pi\u00f9 grandi. Il dimorfismo sessuale \u00e8 molto pronunciato in questa specie di camaleonte. I maschi possono essere lunghi fino a 50 cm, mentre le femmine sono pi\u00f9 piccole e possono essere lunghe fino a 35 cm. Le femmine sono spesso grigie, beige e marroni, mentre i maschi hanno colori pi\u00f9 vivaci.<\/p>\n

Le lucertole<\/h2>\n

Tra le molte lucertole presenti sull’isola ci sono dieci specie di gechi: phelsuma e il geco uroplatus henkeli, che si distingue per la sua coda a foglia.<\/p>\n

La Phelsuma laticauda, conosciuta nelle isole Mascarene come “margouillat”, \u00e8 molto riconoscibile per il suo colore verde brillante, le macchie rosse sulla parte inferiore della schiena e un blu turchese che circonda i suoi occhi.<\/p>\n

Lo Zonosaurus madagascariensis, in malgascio “antalahib\u00f4sy” con le sue dimensioni da adulto di circa 30 cm \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 grande lucertola dell’isola.<\/p>\n

Il Leioheterodon madagascariensis<\/h3>\n

Si nutre di rane, roditori e lucertole, che stordisce e morde prima di mangiarle. La Sanzinia madagascariensis<\/strong>, chiamata in malgascio “d\u00f4”, \u00e8 un boa arboricolo. Misura fino a 2 metri.<\/p>\n

\u00c8 un cacciatore che si posiziona e aspetta. Il boa fiuta le sue prede, ha piccoli sensori termosensibili intorno alla bocca che gli permettono di rilevare la temperatura della preda.<\/p>\n

A differenza del serpente malgascio, il boa di Sanzinia \u00e8 un costrittore, cio\u00e8 soffoca la preda prima di mangiarla.<\/p>\n

La Mantella Betsileo \u00e8 nera sui lati e marrone\/arancione sulla parte superiore della testa e sul dorso. La sua dimensione massima \u00e8 di 2,5 cm. Vivono nelle foreste, nel sottobosco e nelle zone umide. Anche la Blommersia wittei \u00e8 presente sull’isola.
